Alfa shares her inspiring journey from her early days in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, through the creation of a career in textiles based in her creative spirit. Of course, life happens: while leaving a destructive relationship, she discovered how few resources there are available for women and children who are leaving this type of relationship.
Seeing a deep need, and being granted a breathtaking vision, Alfa has transitioned into a strong activist, advocating for women and children embroiled in domestic violence. In addition, she has created a system of advocacy for giving hope to people who have been silenced, as they navigate court systems.
About the Author
Alfa Abreu was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. One of 4 children, raised by a single mother, Alfa was inspired to hard work, creativity, and a deep faith. After completing her Bachelor of Science from the Fashion Institute of Technology, she began working in the fashion and textile industry, where she traveled extensively, garnering a deep and valuable understanding of cultural diversity.
AlfaOmegaChangingLives.com was created as a direct result of Alfa’s encounters with a justice system that is ill-equipped to deal with women and children in the grip of domestic abuse. Alfa is a passionate advocate and continues to provide hope and support for those individuals who are so often silenced.
